Update | Spring 2019

It’s been about two months since I posted anything on here. Why does time go by so quickly?! I want to say that a lot has happened since I posted my previous blog post, but that’d be a lie haha! Still, I’d like to update you guys before I start writing ”normal” blog posts again. So if you want to know a bit more about what’s been going on in my life lately, read on!


Trigger warning: talk about anxiety and hypochondria

2019 started pretty normal for me. Not too bad, but not great either. Just the usual ”trying to stay awake and get things done” routine I’ve spoken about in some of my previous update posts. Meaning: my medication still isn’t ideal, in the sense that it still makes me very tired and sluggish. On top of that, my mental health has been a bit wishy washy since February. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, I started having pretty intense hypochondriac thoughts. I hadn’t had those in about 15 years! The fears I’ve had in recent years all had to do with my body/physical health, but not with scary diseases. But here those thoughts were again, back in full force. It definitely felt a bit like a mental health setback.


After consulting my psychiatrist I upped my medication a bit, in hopes of it helping with my constant grinding thoughts and worries. It does help a little bit, but it mostly makes me feel (even) more sleepy. So yesterday I started with a similar-but-somewhat-different medication, to see if it gives me less severe side effects. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much, because obviously medication isn’t a miracle worker, but at the same time I’m so DONE with feeling like a slug most of the time! Anyway, we’ll see how it goes.


Luckily, fun things have happened too in the past couple of months. For example: I got a new tattoo, yay! It’s so amazing, and I’ll definitely tell you guys more about it in an upcoming blog post or maybe even a video. I actually sort-of-vlogged the experience, and still want to edit and upload the vlog, even though I got the tattoo a month ago haha! So yeah, that’s some of what’s been going on recently. Update | Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Okééé eh, hoi allemaal! Sorry voor mijn lange afwezigheid! Ik had het best druk de afgelopen tijd, en zit al een paar weken in een soort rare transitiefase. Dat wil zeggen, ik ben het beautybloggen een beetje zat! Helaas natuurlijk, want de afgelopen jaren was de ”online beauty community” één van mijn grootste interesses. Ik keek te pas en te onpas beauty video’s en las elke dag beautyblogs, maar de afgelopen paar weken is dit ineens een stuk minder geworden. Ik vind blogs lezen en YouTube video’s kijken nog steeds leuk, maar merk dat ik steeds vaker voor van-alles-wat bloggers/youtubers kies, dan voor specifieke beauty bloggers.

Okaaay eh, hi everybody! Sorry for my long absence! I was pretty busy for a while, en for the past few weeks I’ve been in some kind of weird transition phase. Which basically means that I’m getting a bit bored with beauty blogging! Unfortunately of course, because for the past years the ”online beauty community” was one of my main interests. I was watching beauty videos as much as I could, and would read beauty blogs every day, but the past couple of weeks I’ve been doing this a lot less. I still like reading blogs and watching YouTube videos, but I’ve noticed that I choose a-bit-of-everything bloggers/youtubers over specific beauty bloggers.

Update | Summer 2018

Hoi mensen! Zoals je – hopelijk – gezien hebt, ben ik maandag weer begonnen met blogposts te posten na een ”break” van minstens een maand. Als je mijn vorige update posts gelezen hebt, weet je misschien dat ik last heb van een paar verschillende (mentale) gezondheidsproblemen. Die er, in combinatie met mijn (stressvolle) zomervakantie, voor hebben gezorgd dat dingen posten de laatste tijd wat moeilijk was. Ik leg jullie uit wat er aan de hand was in deze post. Hi guys! As you have – hopefully – noticed I started posting on here again on Monday, after a ”break” of at least a month. If you’ve read any of my previous update posts you might know that I struggle with a couple of (mental) health issues.
