Six affordable cruelty free makeup favourites

A while ago I wrote a post about some of my favourite cruelty free makeup products. There’s one product in that post I don’t recommend anymore because of various reasons *coughKatVonDcough* but the other products I still definitely recommend. I thought I’d do another post full of cruelty free recommendations, and I made sure they all have an affordable price tag!

Let’s start with a couple of base products! Not too long ago I reviewed the High-Adherence Silicone Primer by The Ordinary, and I can’t help but mention it again in this post! This primer smooths rough or dry patches, blurs pores, and yet doesn’t feel overly siliconey. And it only costs €4,90! The other base product I want to share is actually a long-time favourite of mine: the Catrice Prime And Fine Mattifying Waterproof Powder. This translucent powder mattifies without making my skin look super cakey and dry, and has slight blurring properties. It’s the best pressed face powder I’ve tried so far, and it’s only €4,99!

Next up: a couple of eye products! Or well, the NYX Micro Brow Pencil is obviously not an eye product but a brow product haha! This brow pencil isn’t too creamy or too dry, stays put, and is nice and thin. Here in the Netherlands it costs €10,70 which is a bit more on the pricier side, but still within drugstore pricing. I use the colour ”Taupe” by the way. I also wanted to share an eyeshadow palette with you guys. The Elysium Palette by MUA is a gorgeous mauve-toned palette, and only costs €7,99! The shadows are nicely pigmented, and it’s a perfect palette for both everyday looks and more dramatic looks!

Let’s finish with a couple of lip products, shall we? First up: the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. You guys probably already know how good these are, because they’re pretty much a cult product! They have a nice matte finish, but don’t feel uncomfortable on your lips like some matte liquid lipsticks do. Instead they kind of wear like a satin bullet lipstick. They cost €7,45 a pop here in the Netherlands. And last but not least: Topshop lipsticks. Topshop recently relaunced their entire beauty range, and their products are now certified as cruelty free! I still have the old packaging, but both colours I own (”Mink”, one of my most favourite nudes ever, and ”Depth”) are still available! They cost €13,00 a piece.

These are my cruelty free makeup recommendations for now! I’m planning on doing a similar post on random beauty products (skincare, haircare, bodycare and nails), so that’s coming in the near future! Anyway, have you tried any of the products in this post? Did you like them? And what’s your favourite affordable cruelty free makeup product?
